Purpose of the Role:
The Senior Food Scientist is responsible for acting as a primary interface with supplement, body care, and/or homecare co-manufacturers for product innovations and renovations, for overseeing piloting and manufacturing of products, for the creation of raw material and finished product specifications, and for managing product development timelines to ensure project milestones are met. In addition, the Dietary Supplement Food Scientist will help troubleshoot issues that may arise before, during, or after the piloting and/or manufacturing
process. Technical expertise regarding the manufacturing and testing of dietary supplements and food products is a must.
The Senior Food Scientist is responsible for acting as a primary interface with supplement, body care, and/or homecare co-manufacturers for product innovations and renovations, for overseeing piloting and manufacturing of products, for the creation of raw material and finished product specifications, and for managing product development timelines to ensure project milestones are met. In addition, the Dietary Supplement Food Scientist will help troubleshoot issues that may arise before, during, or after the piloting and/or manufacturing
process. Technical expertise regarding the manufacturing and testing of dietary supplements and food products is a must.
Other key responsibility include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet business needs.
- Ensuring Prop 65 compliance
- When applicable, working on flavor, color and sensory profile of new or renovated products
- Sourcing innovative raw materials for new products
- Help to qualify new raw materials
- Proactively identifying project risks and offer solutions to mitigate risks
- Ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the product development process
- Supporting the development of quality processes that meet or exceed GMPs
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, best practices and regulatory changes
- Help with US and international regulatory best practices
- Assist in developing interdepartmental processes
- Gathers and analyses relevant product documents

Education and Experience:
- M.S. in Food Science and/or related field. Doctoral degree a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing dietary supplements
