Role Summary:

Nelson Intelligence Solutions has a career opportunity for a Draftsman/CADD Technician in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Work Environment:

Location: Pine Bluff, Arkansas

Responsibilities:

Transforms initial rough product design using computer-aided drafting design (CADD) into working documents. Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Knows commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within structural engineering.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and work under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a manager. Projects include, but are not limited to commercial/retail, public sector buildings, multi-family residential, custom residential, and historic buildings.

Role Summary:

1. Design and prepare detailed electronic working plans, charts, and/or scale drawings for complex projects from observation, measurements, sketches, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit software.
2. Interface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements.
3. Prepare electronic layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings, and material and equipment requirements from sketches, specifications, and standard layouts provided by customers, consultants, and/or departmental contacts; review and manipulate electronic files received from consultants and departmental contacts.
4. Revise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction.
5. Provide technical guidance and direction in the interpretation and implementation of specifications and requirements and the procurement and use of AutoCAD/Revit files.
6. Identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, materials, etc.
7. Prepare a detailed list of construction documents, and maintain Revit Structure and AutoCAD standards.
8. Assist engineering staff in understanding how to use Revit Structure.
9. Coordinate work from multiple CAD outsourcing services.
10. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information from multiple sources.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, knowledge of design and preparation to complete accurate work plans, charts, scale drawings, and revisions for complex projects, integrating skilled architectural/engineering drafting methods and procedures, with the operation and application of computer-aided drafting design (CADD) and Revit software.

Education/Experience:

Certification from an Accredited Trade School or college bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Architectural/Civil/Structural Engineering is a plus.

Competencies & Skills:

A person who wants to handle the responsibilities of a CADD Technician must have some qualifications and skills. He/she needs to have a bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, or a related field. Apart from these qualifications, he/she is required to have some years of related work experience. Possessing certificates offered by some universities, colleges, and educational institutions would be very beneficial for him/her and would surely enhance his/her job opportunities. He/she also needs to be familiar with the fundamentals of GIS. Finally, he/she should have good communication, programming, and project supervision skills.

shall provide the following support to DPW:

  • The CADD Technician shall provide CAD expertise to create and manage the database as well as convert all CAD drawings and As-Builts from the CAD format to either PDF or TIFF format.
  • The CADD Technician shall be responsible for providing updated As-Builts to the designated team or government-identified personnel for inclusion in ePRISMS.
  • The CADD Technician shall provide floorplans and drawings in electronic or hard-copy format to internal and external stakeholders as directed by the government. In the absence of dedicated enterprise Pro-active Real Property Interactive Space Management System (ePRISMS) personnel, the contractor shall be responsible for updating floor plans and other required information in the ePRISMS database.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience with Bentley MicroStation or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to modify and update as-built drawings using Bentley MicroStation and ePRISMS.
  • Experience creating, organizing, and maintaining a database of as-built drawings.
  • Understanding of CAD concepts, principles, and standards.
