Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
Direct Reports : 6-12

Salary: $60,320

Purpose of this Role The Early Childhood Site Supervisor (ECSS) is a pivotal role that oversees our Head Start and Early Head Start center-based and home-based programs. The ECSS manages and monitors to ensure the delivery of culturally sensitive and developmentally appropriate child and family services that meet the highest compliance standards set by Head Start Performance Standards, Neighborhood House Head Start program policies and state licensing regulations.
The ECSS provides direct supervision to assigned classroom staff which includes teachers, assistants, and classroom aides; offering guidance, support, and professional development opportunities, empowering staff, fostering a collaborative work environment, and promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Primary ResponsibilitiesUltimately, this Early Childhood Site Supervisor has oversight over 3-4 classrooms in one of our locations, the ECSS i s assigned duties that fall primarily into these critical categories:
Leadership, Advocacy and Staff Development
The ECSS provides direct supervision to staff and is expected to conduct regular performance evaluations and provide timely, constructive feedback, supporting professional development and facilitating cohesive relationships between colleagues in each classroom. The Site Supervisor actively cultivates collaborative relationships with a diverse client population and community partners, which is instrumental in addressing the holistic needs of children and families and accessing additional resources and support services.
Program Oversight, Compliance and Reporting.
In this role you will ensure that classrooms meet all regulatory requirements and adhere to established policies and procedures; ensuring they align with the organizations mission, values, and goals. The ECSS identifies areas for improvement, and maintains accurate records and documentation related to program activities, staff qualifications and child outcomes.
Facilities Management
The ECSS oversees facility operations to guarantee a safe and conducive environment including maintaining physical infrastructure, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols, and coordinating resources to optimize the learning environment. This role maintains a stocked inventory of janitorial, office, health and classroom supplies and materials, and coordinates with relevant stakeholders to address any facility-related issues or concerns.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Documentation of attaining at least step 10 in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO).
  • 4 years’ experience teaching children under the age of 5 in a formal early education setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience directly managing a team.
  • Must be enrolled in the Oregon Childcare Division Central Background Registry (CBR) at time of offer and maintain enrollment during employment.
  • Successfully complete Fit for Duty and TB testing according to Head Start regulations prior to date of hire.
  • Adult and Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certification ( must obtain within 30 days of employment ).
  • Food Handlers Card ( must obtain within 30 days of employment ).
  • Intermediate level proficiency of MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Calendar and One Drive.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field.
  • Knowledge of CHILD PLUS.
  • Experience with research-based child development assessment tools.
  • Direct experience working with parents.
