Responsibilities:

• Works with the Senior Medical Director, Medical Director, Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Executive Officer to use data and experience to design a psychiatry program focused on ensuring quality mental health care is available to Neighborhood Health Center’s patients and toward meeting the goals of the organization
• Provides short and long term psychotherapy and the concurrent use of medications for patients throughout the age spectrum including medication monitoring and adjustment and timely refills
• Provides counseling for individuals and families
• Supervises a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists in the treatment of patients
• Establishes a database on patients by obtaining an appropriate health, developmental and psychosocial history, as well as through screening and diagnostic procedures and tests
• Provides treatment according to APA Practice Guidelines as well as agency standards and protocols
• Consults with other NHC providers in the management of patients with complex mental health issues
• Participates in professional timely on-call coverage as appropriate to the department, documenting appropriately
• Assists in developing protocols for consistent care

Requirements: 

• Must be a graduate of a four (4) year recognized medical school; must have completed residency in appropriate field (ie: internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics. psychiatry)
• Must possess a current NYS physician license and be a Board eligible/certified in field of specialty
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to read, write and speak the English language; a second language of Spanish preferred.

Compensation: $250,000-$300,000 per year (based on a full time, 40 hour work week)

Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
