Salary:

Dental Office Scheduler

Neighborhood Health Association - Assists in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date dental records for each clinic patient. May perform other related work including, but not limited to, greeting patients, making appointments, answering the phone, ordering supplies, and assisting with information needed for dental billing.

Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum one (1) year as a receptionist or administrative assistant in a medical or dental office performing similar job duties.
    • Graduate of Dental Assistant program highly preferred.
    • Valid and current radiography license highly preferred.
    • EMR proficient, and/or ability to learn EMR.
    • Current certification in CPR or willingness to become certified.
    • Ability to work on a team in a challenging, fast paced environment.
    • Detail oriented along with the ability to manage time efficiently.
    • Pleasant and professional demeanor and temperament during times of stressful and difficult situations.
    • Effective organizational, communication, writing and listening skills.
    • Must be sensitive to cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity.
    • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
    • Shows initiative and ability to use sound judgement in absence of specific orders.
    • Must be well-organized, detail oriented and use time wisely.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Answer and direct all incoming calls into the NHA Call Center.
    • Assist with pre-calls and call reports
    • Confirm patient’s appointments.
    • Schedule appointments for patients using the electronic health system, following PCMH standards.
    • Cancel and reschedule appointments for patients using the electronic health system, following PCMH standards.
    • Direct non-scheduling calls to appropriate department or extension.
    • Respond appropriately to patient inquiries.
    • Follow up with patient calls where necessary.
    • Will be knowledgeable of LEP policy in order to accurately manage our non-English speaking patients.
    • Maintain a friendly, courteous, and professional tone when handling all incoming calls, following SNAP protocol.
    • Utilize resources provided for patients with unresolved issues, to include Patient Lines, E.H.R. Messaging, and Patient Advocate.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, no weekends, or holidays.
