UW Medical Center-Roosevelt - General Internal Medicine Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist Supervisor.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Located in the University District, the General Internal Medicine Center at UW Medical Center - Roosevelt provides comprehensive primary care for adult patients, including preventive medicine services, assessment and treatment of acute medical problems and monitoring and treatment of chronic diseases. We are a dynamic teaching clinic, focused on providing patient-centered care grounded in the best available medical evidence.

Our mental healthcare professionals provide a range of services including psychiatric consultations, medication management and recommendations for continued psychiatric care. You can also access many specialized care services in this location, making this a convenient place to get the coordinated care UW Medicine is known for.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise PSS staff and will perform duties of a PSS

Coordinate the day-to-day operations

Monitor PSS staff assignments and makes adjustments as needed to ensure critical needs are met

Complete new employee competencies, consistently complete annual competencies

Conduct the interview process for all new PSS applicants

Participate in clinical leadership meetings

Advocate for patient/family by locating appropriate staff to address concerns

Act promptly and effectively in managing self, patient and other employees during an emergency situation

Maintain/improve own clinical professional competence, knowledge and skills to meet identified self-learning needs and annual review requirements

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's Degree in a medically related or public relations field

AND

One year experience in a healthcare setting which includes lead responsibility

OR

An equivalent combination of education/experience
