Neighborcare Health is Hiring a Clinical Supervisor - School-based 1.0FTE Near Seattle, WA

PURPOSE

Ensure School-based Health Centers (SBHC) operate within the guidelines set by Neighborcare management team and in accordance with laws and regulations. Support School-based Health Program lead team in developing, implementing and/or improving systems that affect and/or enhance clinic care and quality. The Clinical Supervisor works collaboratively with the SBHC Site Medical Director (SMD) on implementing the complex systems and processes necessary for the provision of school-based medical services. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of the SBHC Health Educator team and supports clinical care improvement, quality, standards, policies and procedures for the medical care and health educators. The Clinical Supervisor consults, collaborates, and implements clinic standards in cooperation with Neighborcare leaders and works in partnership and joint accountability with other team members to achieve Neighborcare’s Mission, Core Values, and Goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinical Expertise and Standards Development 

  • Vaccinations, including VFC management, provider skills training, and storage and handling 
  • Medications, including 340B inventory standards, prescription processing, formularies, on-site medication dispensing, and the ordering, dispensing and disposing of medications 
  • Lab services, including point of care testing, skills training, and lab processing 
  • Medical supplies, including instrument processing, sterilization, formularies, and on-site usage 
  • Emergency processes, including supply standardization, skills training, and ongoing improvement processes 
  • Quality Assurance, define frequency, completion, and troubleshooting for point of care lab testing, medication audits, and vaccine maintenance 
  • Electronic Health Record SBHC standards, including supporting skills training, troubleshooting system issues, charting help, and Billing systems in the EHR

Communication 

  • Serve as a connection resource to the relevant work and initiatives occurring on other Neighborcare clinical teams, including Pharmacy, RN, MA, Behavioral Health/Mental Health
  • Foster communication within the SBHC medical provider and health educator team and develop new opportunities for provider collaboration 
  • Work collaboratively with the SBHC SMD and other SBHC leaders to prioritize, develop, and implement policies and standard operating procedures 
  • Model and mentor SBHC team in appropriate problem-solving and positive communication 
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality 
  • Exemplify Neighborcare Health service commitments: (a warm welcome; respect; caring; working together; and trusting relationships) with internal and external partners and patients 

General Medical Provider Team Support 

  • Assist with onboarding new SBHC providers and provide ongoing guidance for SBHC providers regarding necessary trainings and professional development
  • Work with SBHC SMD on locum pool recruitment, development and skills training 
  • Work with SMD and Health Center Administrator on cross-coverage for medical providers during planned and unplanned absences 
  • Support with administrative tasks and other assigned duties as needed

Supervision of Health Educators 

  • Provide direct supervision and oversight to the Health Educators, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, retention, discipline, training, and team building 
  • Support all clinical aspects of the Health Education program, including working with the SBHC SMD to guide development and strategic goal setting

Strategic Planning 

  • Work with the SBHC SMD, Operations and other lead team members to implement and adapt Neighborcare clinical systems and initiatives to the school-based model 
  • Develop goals for improvement in safety, quality, and health outcome in cooperation with the SBHC SMD and other lead team members 

Collaborate with Neighborcare Colleagues and Leaders 

  • Participate in Neighborcare leadership meetings and leadership development activities; 
  • Attend Neighborcare and SBHC meetings based on collaborative goals. Example: may attend Back Office Clinical Operations meetings as SBHC representative 
  • Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives

  • Proficient with email and electronic health records 
  • Ability to meet and comply with HIPAA/Confidentiality policies and procedures 

Education

Required: Master’s degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice

 Required:  

  • Current Washington state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant 
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred:  2 years or more of experience in leadership and/or supervisor role

Years of Relevant Experience Required: 

  • Minimum two (2) years of direct patient care experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant 
  • Currently a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Neighborcare Health’s SBHC team

Compensation 

  • The wage range for this position is minimum $114,920.00 up to $159,286.40 maximum.
  • Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
