This is a highly physical, manual labor position, for precision, detail orientated individuals, this person will perform all aspects of Crating, including preparation of Crating documents, data entry into computer, maintaining data for shop orders, loading and unloading trucks, material handling, packaging parts, inventory control, building custom crates around product to ensure product is secure during shipping, use of overhead cranes during loading of oversize loads, use of air tools, power tools, and hand tools.
What you will do

• Perform all aspects of Crating including; preparation of Crating documents, packaging parts, loading trucks and data entry.
• Build Custom Crate
• Assembly of all parts for Crate
• Ensure inventory accuracy by properly completing all paperwork in a timely manner.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards as set by management.
• Operate Crating equipment including forklift.
• Comply with all company safety procedures and policies.
• Maintain clean, orderly work area and give proper care to tools and equipment.
• Perform all duties with minimal supervision.
• Comply with assigned work schedule as determined by management including overtime and shift work in accordance with company policy.
• Provide hours and weekend on-call coverage as needed.
• Recommend to the supervisor ways to reduce costs and improve the quality of products and overall efficiency of the department.
• Crates products by FIFO
• Works priority Shop Orders
• Works Closely with Production Control & Planning
• Works with air tools, power tools, hand tools
• Accurately reads Tape Measurer

• Transitions from one task to another efficiently
• Assist customers over the telephone or via email as needed.
• Perform additional duties at times.

We believe you have

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment
• 1-3 years’ experience in overhead crane
• 1-3 years’ experience with air tools power tools, hand tools, measuring tools, etc...
• 1-3 years’ experience in working physical manual labor
• 1-3 years’ experience on sit down forklift
• Forklift license and NC Driver’s License
• Computer skills
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications as well as use measuring instruments
• Carpenter skills to build crates and skids
