Primary Purpose: The Compounder position is a highly focused, highly skilled, and extremely detail-oriented position. There are two types of compounding, wet compounding and dry compounding. Wet Compounding consists of making quality product mixes for all oil based soap products, including all types of Body Scrubs, Whipped Soaps, Yogurt Body Peels, and Body Butters. Dry Compounding is responsible for making all powder-based product mixes including all types of Milkshake Bath Soaks, Bubble Scoops, and most types of mainline Bath Bombs.

Key Responsibilities

• Creating base mixes and finished product for all oil-based soap products, and most powder-based products

• Follow all safety protocols, including for operating and working near heavy machinery

• Working knowledge of equipment and machinery used in compounding, including but not limited to: mixing kettles, ribbon mixer, emulsifiers, pumps, etc

• Must recognize how all process piping in the compounding room is used and how to maintain and operate them. Compounders must know how the supply and return piping lines interact with whichever kettle they are connected to.

• Knowledge of chemical properties and general purpose of all ingredients in our products

• Must be a Product Quality Master and know the correct characteristics of each product being compounded, including but not limited to: product consistency, density, acidity, color, scent, and moisture levels

• Know how to recognize, through extreme attention to detail, any quality issues that arise with product mixes

• Ability to read and process ingredient recipes through step by step instructions

• Ability to troubleshoot any issues with equipment, machinery or final products

• Awareness of current inventory levels for each product

• Have a passion for continuous improvement. Always looking for better and faster ways to make product without sacrificing quality.
