Program Coordinator - Empowering Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities? Do you have a strong background in person-centered planning, positive behavior support, and program management? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at Nebraska Neurobehavioral Services as a Program Coordinator!

Job Summary:

As a Program Coordinator, you will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residential program. You will be responsible for leading a team of direct support professionals, developing and implementing individualized support plans, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional services that align with our values and philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of direct support professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Develop, implement, and monitor person-centered support plans that address the unique needs, goals, and preferences of each individual served
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, and community partners to coordinate comprehensive services and supports
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and agency policies and procedures
  • Supervise medication management, oversee the implementation of behavior support plans, and provide crisis intervention as needed

. Experince with schedules and scheduling

  • Coordinate and schedule medical appointments, arrange transportation, and assist individuals in accessing community resources and benefits
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, analyze data, and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff members, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Ensure timely documentation of client interactions and support interventions in the form of progress notes, incident reports, communication logs, and other required documentation
  • Mobilize resources to meet individual needs and communicate effectively to exchange information with team members, families, and community partners
  • Develop and assess individual program plans and individual family support plans
  • Ensure clients receive assistance with social security, including work incentives, wage reporting, benefit counseling, and management of personal finances (as needed and desired)
  • Ensure support for persons served in locating and securing adequate housing options, advocating on their behalf with landlords, and assisting in arranging moving in/out of apartments
  • Ensure assistance for persons served in applying for and maintaining low-income assistance such as housing support, food stamps, and energy assistance; assist with reporting taxes or securing tax assistance
  • Work a shift per an established schedule and be flexible to work outside the shift parameters based on the needs of the business
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) in education, psychology, social work, human services, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
  • Proven experience in person-centered planning, program writing, and program implementation
  • Strong knowledge of positive behavior support, habilitation services, and best practices in the field
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Therap)
  • Knowledge of current practices in the field of community-based services for persons with intellectual disabilities and other services for persons with developmental disabilities
  • Understanding of the principles of normalization and provision of habilitation services
  • Familiarity with statutes and regulations pertaining to the delivery of services for individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Ability to assess the needs of persons with intellectual or other developmental disabilities, their families, interdisciplinary team members, and agency representatives
  • Skill in applying agency and program rules, policies, and procedures consistently and effectively
  • Commitment to following and leading by example the Company's mission to empower individuals and actively seek out opportunities for an enhanced quality of life

  • Minimum of 1 year of prior supervisory experience

Schedule:

Monday-Friday (weekend on call as needed)

Participation in on-call rotation for crisis support.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $46,656.00 - $53,000.00 per year
