Coordinates and performs vascular procedures.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
1. Coordinates and performs cardiac or vascular procedures according to the department policy and procedures approved by the Medical Director and pertinent governing body using digital imaging.

Selects from work list 100% of the time or follows the correct down time guidelines for patient demographic information in order to pass the information to medical records.

Works closely with Information Technology (IT) when the work list is not working. Information Technology (IT) feedback and notification of manual scanning of finalized results for medical records.

Competency check list on each procedure by technical director.
2. Obtains accurate patient history, appropriate indications for the study and critical measurements for physician's interpretation.

Feedback from physicians, peers, business office and medical records.

Obtain signed consent for Medicare patients if test is not covered.
3. Acquires all images digitally and assigns the images to a physician for final interpretation.
4. Educates the patient on procedure that is being performed BEFORE the procedure begins and checks for understanding from patient.
5. Log each patient on log sheet and bill appropriately in Cerner following the procedure.
6. Give critical lab results to the ordering department and instruct them to read back the results for clarification and understanding per department policy.
7. Collaborates in maintaining proper inventory and works with Information Technology (IT) and Bio-Med when equipment or system goes down.

8. Provides appropriate care specific to the patient to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment is provided as outlined by the age specific criteria guidelines.

Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire

American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered or board eligible required.

Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS required within one year of employment required.
