We are looking for a skilled, professional Psychologist. In this role you will be an integral part of our Behavioral Health Division and provide critical care to adult patients with mental illness at Lincoln Regional Center (LRC), an inpatient, 250-bed, Joint Commission-accredited state psychiatric hospital which is run by NE DHHS and is located in Lincoln, NE.

LRC serves people who need very specialized psychiatric services and provides services to people who, because of mental illness, require a highly structured treatment setting.

Job duties:

The psychologist will provide direct psychological evaluation, testing, treatment, and discharge planning for men involuntarily hospitalized at LRC.

This position requires knowledge of clinical treatment and assessment methods for adults with serious mental illness, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and other dangerous behaviors towards self and others.

It also requires specialized knowledge of working with forensic populations, trauma informed care, personality and cognitive assessments, and risk assessment instruments/protocols. The psychologist may also participate in court and mental health board testimony.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Must be licensed to practice psychology in the state of Nebraska. A doctoral degree in psychology is required. Licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Nebraska is preferred, but may have a provisional license as a Psychologist.

PREFERRED: Experience with treating persons with severe and persistent mental illness, inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities, and administering violence risk assessments.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation

Hiring Rage of Position:

Starting pay rate: $55.29/hour.

Provisionally licensed starting pay rate: $45.68/hour

Work schedule:

Work Schedule: 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

Monday-Friday with some flexibility

Computer skills; Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing. Knowledge of relevant laws, ethical codes, and regulations.
