Job Description

The North Central Texas Council of Governments Administration Department is seeking a versatile entry-level Accountant to assist with managing the Grants Funds and Budgets under multiple funding sources and streams. This is accomplished by providing fiscal support to Grant receivers and/or funding agencies, preparing and submitting Funding Agency expenditure reports and reimbursement requirements and preparing and sending Excel report files on a monthly basis to relevant sub-contractors.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provides fiscal support to Grant receivers and/or funding agencies by monitoring, allocating and classifying expenditures according to grantor requirements
  • Compiling and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports to regulatory and funding agencies
  • Prepares and submits Funding Agency expenditures reports and reimbursement requirements by compiling data using PSR’s and sub-contractors’ reports
  • Researching discrepancies and communicating and consulting with managers on budget overruns and differences
  • Processing current month’s expenditures as reimbursement requests and entering A/P data to create vouchers for payments
  • Reconciles numerous General Ledger accounts and provide various related services by researching and correcting variances
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly reports for management by updating spreadsheets using various reports from the accounting system and coordinating activities with the appropriate personnel to ensure spending levels and reporting
  • Provides related services by assisting with tagging fixed assets, internal inventory controls and year-end inventory for print shop and working with department staff to accomplish departmental goals

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting degree preferred)
  • Up to one year of related work experience

Salary

Minimum of $45,736 annually
