The North Central Texas Emergency Communications District (NCT9-1-1) is searching for a 9-1-1 Geographic Information Specialist II to join our growing team. Saving Lives and Making a Difference!NCT9-1-1 is responsible for 40 Emergency Communications Centers (ECCs) in 13 counties surrounding the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. NCT9-1-1 supports these ECCs through maintaining and upgrading 9-1-1 equipment, providing up-to-date mapping information, training the 9-1-1 telecommunicators, educating the public on the proper use of 9-1-1, and monitoring ECC functionality and compliances. NCT9-1-1 serves a population of 1.9 million and covers 10,800 square miles.
Job Summary: NCT9-1-1 is dedicated to providing exceptional quality GIS and mapping data to our ECCs. Our team plays a vital role in utilizing geospatial data and technology to support 9-1-1 operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and functionality of our GIS systems, providing support to our GIS Data Providers, and staying current with the latest GIS technologies and methodologies.
