This position will provide professional individual and group counseling services and outreach to NC State students as well as consultation to University administrators, staff and others who have concerns about the mental/emotional status of NC State students. The staff member will beembedded within the Campus Centers to primarily serve students who visit those centers, They will consult and build relationships with center staff and gain an understanding of the unique needs of the population served. This position will focus on serving students in the African-American cultural center and multicultural student affairs.This position will assist in all areas of Counseling Center functioningincluding:Provide individual and group counseling of NC State students/clients (personal, academic, and vocational assessment and counseling); psychological assessment; developmental and crisis counseling; couples counseling; evaluation of students for withdrawal from the UniversityDevelop and participate in outreach programming, hold lets talk drop in spacesConsult with faculty staff, parents, and othersProvide evaluations and recommendations regarding students with academic and conduct problemsParticipate in after hours “on call” and possible evening office hoursGeneral administrative responsibilitiesThis position may involve participation in supervision/training of graduate students and program evaluation; all other duties as assigned.
