Responsibilities for the Academic Coordinator include but are not limited to developing and implementing programs and activities for assisting and monitoring academic progress toward degree for assigned sports, providing academic support, collaborating with other staff members to support students, serving on or leading unit committees, and serving as a liaison with other campus support organizations.The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring academic progress and eligibility of assigned team(s); meeting weekly with freshmen/at-risk student athletes on assigned team(s); attending campus professional development opportunities; assisting in the recruiting process of student athletes; and communicating academic information and concerns to coaches/athletic administratorsAdditional duties include:Monitoring academic progress and eligibility of assigned team(s)Meeting weekly with freshmen/at-risk student athletes on assigned teamsOverseeing structured academic environment for assigned teamsActing as primary academic advisor of Exploratory Studies student athletes on assigned teamsAssisting in recruiting process of student athletesCommunication of academic updates to coaches/athletic administrators
