Purpose

Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of the Respiratory Care clinical education. The Clinical Director will be an integral part of the student educational experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the S. Department of Education (USDE)
• Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license
• Have a minimum of four (4) years experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care
• Have a minimum of two (2) years experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs
• Complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program upon hire

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs
• Travel required
• Indoors, environmentally controlled
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
• Occasional stress due to deadlines and/or dealing with unpleasant or angry people

Job Duties

Essential Functions

• Regular attendance and timeliness
• Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the program clinical sites
• Assist the Program Director in the coordination and formation of policies affecting the Respiratory Care Program clinical experience
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with clinical sites
• Oversees the clinical training of RC students
• Recommends expenditures and book approval/orders for the Respiratory Care Program
• Responsible for the development and evaluation of the Respiratory Care Program clinical curriculum
• Participates in the evaluation of student progress
• Coordinates the preparation and approval of agreements with clinical agency, prepares reports as required
• Maintains communication with appropriate professional organizations and attends meetings as required, representing the college and the program
• Maintains current knowledge of rules and regulations governing the program
• Teaches courses within the program
• Engages in Advising & Student Support
• Engages in professional development
• Demonstrate professionalism and customer service
• Demonstrate a daily commitment to NCK Tech’s Mission, Vision and Values
• Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Instruction or the President

• 190 Day Position
• Compensation based on experience
