ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: A rotating, 8-hour shift, including weekends, evenings and holidays. Overtime is mandatory when required. Assists as a member of the Airport Emergency Response Team.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager is responsible for the operation and maintenance of HVAC equipment, the environment control system, water treatment program, fire sprinkler system maintenance, pumps, motors, automatic gates, baggage carousel, escalators, elevators, overhead doors, automatic doors, centrifugal chiller system, air handlers, cooling towers, boilers, water fountains, ice machines, and other related equipment. Performs plumbing repairs, drywall repairs, texturing/painting and cleaning of roofs, canopies and sidewalks. Provides additional services such as escorts, cleaning vehicles, facilities clean up, member of the emergency response team and assist other sections as requested. Provide technical direction to others regarding the operation and maintenance of building equipment. Required to perform maintenance and repairs on the QTA car wash, vacuum cleaning system, compressors, soap drum change outs, cleaning car wash runs, and escorting fuel deliveries. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma or GED with six (6) months of progressively responsible experience in building maintenance and equipment operations. Preferred experience in HVAC and plumbing repairs. A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
