ABOUT THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF CRANE OPERATORS (CCO):

CCO was formed in January 1995 as a non-profit organization with a mission to develop effective performance standards; provide fair, valid, and reliable assessments; act as an industry resource; and be the leader in providing certifications for those who work in and around load handling equipment. CCO is headquartered in Fairfax, VA, and maintains offices in Murray, UT and Palm Harbor, FL.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Supports the work of management and other staff by performing functions such as scheduling and organizing training workshops, communicating with workshop hosts, registering workshop attendees, preparing and delivering training content and materials, promoting workshop events, and coordinating with workshop instructors. The position may also assist with conducting virtual training, preparing statistical reports, providing quarterly reports, contributing to strategic plan items, and other projects as requested. In addition, the position oversees the rigger kit ordering and registration process; develops and maintains relationships with Testing Personnel and other staff within the department and the company, including the supervision of assigned tasks for the QM Department Administrative Assistant, as they relate to workshops and training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Practical Examiner Accreditation Support

  • Provide excellent customer service to potential Testing Personnel and workshop hosts
  • Maintain workshop schedule for all Proctor workshops
  • Coordinate and maintain registration process for all proctor training workshops
  • Promote proctor workshop events
  • Assign and coordinate with instructors for Practical Proctor workshops
  • Liaison with Audit Team to schedule Staff Auditors for combined events
  • Coordinate with workshop host, instructor, auditor, attendees, and staff from start to finish to ensure successful completion of events through effective communication and organizational skills
  • Coordinate with PM, Training & Curriculum and SMEs regarding workshop content updates
  • Supervise processing of workshop results and awarding of credentials
  • Organize virtual meetings for virtual workshop events
  • Provide technical support for virtual workshop events
  • Track provisional proctor progress regarding completion of proctor credentials (audit completion)
  • Identify and implement approved changes to training materials using PPT, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Create new forms while maintaining compliance with style sheet and usage guidelines
  • Track training costs, attendance, fees collected, shipping costs, and update tracking spreadsheets to assist with operating within budget, research materials costs, generate/maintain financial reports related to workshops, and submit invoices/expense reports to bill.com
  • Track shipping costs and help prepare cost analyses and revenue reports
  • Coordinate instructor training and calibration events
  • Provide Proctor workshop support to NWSA programs
  • Support Program Manager in general matters and program improvements, identify and recommend areas for improvement in processes, and implement/track evaluation ratings and provide reports
  • Support Testing Personnel Credentials Team in Strategic Plan items

B. Training and Supervising

  • Support in training and supervision of Administrative Assistant as related to Testing Personnel Credentials team tasks and responsibilities

C. Other job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma 
  • Associate degree a plus
  • 3-5 years of related experience in an office environment OR equivalent relevant work experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong computer-based skills and ability to learn new programs 
  • Excellent organizational skills

JOB CONDITIONS:

Physical Requirements:

  • This is largely a desk-bound position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects to 20 lbs. 

Expected Work Hours:

  • Regular days/hours of work: Monday- Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
  • This is a full-time position. Must be able to maintain regular, reliable attendance and on time daily arrival.
