The Challenge
We're looking for an advanced level Photogrammetry Engineering Supervisor II to join our award-winning photogrammetry team that captures aerial imagery and generates geospatial information products used for transportation planning, design, and construction.
In this role, you will:
Provide supervision and management of engineering squads and technical support staff.
Manage all aspects of contracting for aerial photography acquisition and photogrammetric services from private photogrammetric consultants.
Monitor and review report work performance of junior engineers and engineering technicians.
Scope, plan, acquire, and approve digital aerial imagery used to support preliminary and final design mapping, and earthwork quantity calculations.
Assist in the coordination of photo control and flight planning.
Interact with NCDOT project managers, private sector customers, Division construction staff, and Location and Surveys staff.
Coordinate approval of aerial survey limits and control survey data.
Ensure the overall quality and production of mapping and earthwork quantity calculations data produced by the engineering squads and private photogrammetric firms.
Perform work independently and provide complex problem analysis, decision making, and monitoring of programs of greater organizational scope.
What You Bring
Considerable knowledge of professional transportation and geomatics engineering theory, techniques, practices, and procedures used in photogrammetry, remote sensing, GPS surveying, LiDAR surveying, conventional surveying, and GIS; and skills in applying this knowledge to transportation related issues.
Extensive knowledge of photogrammetry theory, techniques, practices, and procedures used to acquire digital aerial imagery, perform aerotriangulation, and produce digital geospatial information products used for transportation planning, design, and construction.
Experience ensuring all work adheres to local, state, and federal regulations, accepted industry guidelines, and is completed according to schedule and budgetary constraints.
Experience managing staff including: mentoring, coaching, and managing the total competencies of engineering and technical staff, administering performance evaluations, conducting interviews, making recommendations to fill positions, and recommending and/or taking disciplinary actions.
