NEW HIGHER PAY: $36,682 - $64,194
The Challenge
We're looking for an Automotive Parts Clerk to join our Greenville Equipment Shop team.
In this role you will:
    • Use a computer to manage orders and inventory using our SAP/3 system to enter goods issued and received under transaction MIGO, order parts from parts manuals and electronic manuals, issue parts to technicians, receive parts, unload shipments from vendors/Division Shop.
    • Prepare work orders and make daily time entries into our SAP online database.
    • Maintain office records and prepare reports from these records.
What You Bring
    • Demonstrated ability to correctly identify automotive and construction equipment parts through use of catalogs or physical inspection.
    • Experience with physical inventory maintenance procedures (i.e. daily, and annual spot checks/counting).
    • Experience with data entry including invoicing and purchasing requisitions.
    • Computer skills to operate a computer terminal and use Microsoft Word.
    • Considerable knowledge of the materials and parts used in the repair and maintenance of light to heavy construction equipment.
    • Strength to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavy objects such as batteries for heavy equipment, grader blades, and large tires.
    • Ability to safely drive a State-owned vehicle.
    • Experience with medium-duty truck and forklift operation.
    • Working knowledge of the methods and practices used in maintaining inventory control records.
    • Estimating skills to accurately estimate amounts/types of supplies required based on past use and probable future use.
    • Ability to correctly identify automotive, heavy equipment, and construction equipment parts through the use of catalogs/physical inspection.
    • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Good team skills to maintain an effective working relationship with the team.
    • Ability to accurately process work, time, and work orders produced by staff.
    • Safety toe footwear.
Management Prefers
Candidates with:
    • Experience in auto parts inventory management, heavy truck, equipment parts clerk work, or SAP/3.
    • Knowledge of NCDOT's SAP system.
Note
    • You may be required to work during adverse weather conditions.
Education & Experience
    • High School/GED diploma, and
    • 2 years of related administrative experience; or
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.
