Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, Certified Lawn Care Technician to keep our client's lawns green and weed free and ornamental trees and shrubs healthy. The qualified candidate will apply fertilizer, herbicides, pesticides and fungicides to lawns and ornamental trees and shrubs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• State of Michigan Commercial Pesticide License Turfgrass (3A), Ornamental (3B) and Right-of-Way (6) or ability to earn within 90 days of employment.
• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to work independently.
• Must have clean driving record and chauffeur license or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Customer service experience in any industry
• Drug Free Workplace

Preferred Requirements:

• 2 - 4 years’ experience in the lawn care industry

Job Functions:

• Apply fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides on residential and commercial lawns.
• Apply fertilizer, pesticides and fungicides to residential and commercial ornamental trees and shrubs.
• Mix all products according to label and follow all OSHA safety standards and related application instructions.
• Diagnose and treat lawn and plant pests and diseases.
• Ensure highest level of quality for all applications.
• Work with clients, vendors and Naylor Landscape Management staff members in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.

Responsibilities:

The Lawn, Shrub, and Tree Care Technician's responsibilities include but are not limited to following all state and federal guidelines, rules and regulations regarding fertilizer, herbicide, pesticide and fungicide mixing and application. Loading and securing all equipment, tools, fuel, etc. necessary for the day’s work on truck and trailer each day. Using fertilizer spreaders, backpack sprayers, etc. to complete all scheduled work each day. Making a final inspection at each job site to be sure that all work has been completed according to quality standards. Making sure equipment is in good working condition and notifying mechanic if equipment needs repair. Practice all safety standards. Handling customer requests, complaints, etc. while on job site in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner.
