Duties

  • Leads a variety of small and large group fitness classes for all eligible patrons.
  • Conducts command physical training sessions for the active duty population.
  • Facilitates educational classes for all eligible patrons in fitness, nutrition and wellness.
  • Provides personal training sessions and fitness guidance to
  • the population meet their fitness goals.
  • Instructs and demonstrates proper biomechanics techniques for use of all resistance and cardiovascular equipment.
  • Enforces all rules and regulation within the fitness center.
  • Provides input to the Fitness Coordinator on all safety and other related equipment requirements for repair or maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must upload three (3) professional references along with contact information. - One must be a current or former supervisor.
  • A degree in Exercise physiology, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, or a Health related field or three years' experience within the health/fitness field and a high school diploma.
  • Current certification in Personal Training
  • Current certification in CPR/AED
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Exercise physiology, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, or a Health related field or three years' experience within the health/fitness field and a high school diploma.
  • Current certification in Personal Training
  • Current certification in CPR/AED
  • Knowledge gained through extensive and relevant experience which enables the incumbent to competently and independently plan, develop and conduct a diversified fitness program through proper application of fitness principles, concepts and techniques that relate to the specific needs of the patrons and the interests of the military community.
  • Extensive oral and written communication skills, with abilities to speak in public forums to both small and large groups of people.

Education

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
