Job Summary: Develops and plans both NEXCOM short and long-range capital improvement projects for both internal workforce and external construction contract execution in support of Navy Exchange, Navy Lodge, and Navy Gateway Inns and Suites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of responsible experience, which provided the applicant with a knowledge of general maintenance/renovation concepts and facility operational systems; material take-off and renovation project scheduling procedures; development of statements of work for contract execution of construction, renovation, or facility repairs, property management practices and procedures including budget and report preparation, or and practical experience in trade, craft or maintenance work incorporating operation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of operating equipment, buildings, utility systems, etc. General experience consisting of routine duties that did not require technical knowledge or judgment is not considered qualifying.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of directly related academic study above the high school level or 36 weeks of completed study in a business school or technical training institute may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four-year bachelors degree for three years of general experience.
AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Two years of progressively responsible experience, which provided a background in the coordination of construction/renovation projects, cost estimating and procurement of construction/renovation projects materials; knowledge of commercial facilities planning including accepted drafting practices and principles; development of floor space, utility and equipment layouts with optimum space utilization; compiling interior design packages, technical statements of work, and providing technical assistance, or similar work that demonstrated the level of work for the position.
