Due to growth, we are adding this Supervisor, Clinical Operations (RN) to our Clinical Services department.

We are unable to offer remote work to residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Under general direction of the Manager, Clinical Services, the Supervisor, Clinical Operations (RN) will be responsible for overseeing the Clinical Operations RNs within the Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Services Department. This role will work closely with Clinical Services leadership to ensure staff are providing clinical and service excellence for our patients utilizing Lumicera’s Clinical Patient Management Program while meeting company quality and service level goals. In addition, the supervisor will assist in the development and execution of new or existing clinical outreach programs to exceed client expectations.

This position is responsible for providing telephonic education to patients and caregivers following the Clinical Protocols and working within the nursing scope of practice and guidelines. This individual will offer clinical intervention, counseling, and support services, which require substantial knowledge, judgement and professionalism based upon the foundation of nursing practice and superior patient care. The Supervisor, Clinical Operations (RN) will assist in compliance, adherence and persistency programing within the specialty pharmacy. This position will also facilitate with manufacturer and client partners as well as provider clinics and facilities to carry out mutually agreed upon programs and protocols.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • Schedule and monitor day-to-day workflow and staffing levels to ensure continuity of patient care. Develop employee’s skills, evaluate performance, and provide feedback. Oversee resolution of employee relations. Conduct hiring, training and evaluation of staff.
  • Develop, track and monitor employee’s compliance to quality, service, and production standards to meet department goals. 
  • Produce, perform and maintain clinical program material and services promoting patient care. This may include but is not limited to development of clinical process documents, manufacturer program services and evidence-based practice materials.
  • Perform clinical assessments, provide disease and drug specific information to the patient and/or caregiver within the scope of nursing practice and guidelines.
  • When clinically necessary, triage to the pharmacist and/or contact the patients treating physician to inform him/her of any previously unreported or new disease state specific symptom(s), medication adherence issues and any other health related matters identified during the Clinical Assessment.
  • Complete appropriate forms/adverse event forms when necessary, according to FDA and pharmaceutical requirements.
  • Understand distribution and dispensing requirements for Specialty Pharmacy drugs including REMS and Limited Distribution best practices.
  • Actively assist clinical services staff in the conduction of daily clinical duties. Documenting patient interventions and clinical notes in patient record and performing documentation audits to ensure staff documentation meets quality standards.
  • Resolve escalated patient complaints or service issues to obtain patient satisfaction and superior clinical outcomes. 
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements, pharmacy policies and procedures, and Federal and State regulations.

What our team expects from you? 

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Registered Nurse license in state of practice with current, unrestricted license. Must continually maintain education credits to maintain active licensure.
  • Minimum of 5 years of patient-centered care or disease management nursing experience.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. 
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
