Deloitte is Hiring an Audit & Assurance Sprint CPA Exam Readiness Program - Summer 2024 Near Boston, MA

Position Summary

The Deloitte & Touche LLP (Deloitte) Audit & Assurance (A&A) Sprint CPA Exam Readiness Program (the "Program") is part of Deloitte's Making Accounting Diverse and Equitable (MADE) commitment which aims to fuel greater racial and ethnic diversity in the accounting profession. Through this Program, Deloitte A&A seeks to help our incoming first-year A&A professionals with enhanced CPA Exam readiness by providing real-time access to and instruction from experienced CPA Exam facilitators, Becker CPA Exam preparation materials, and 13 weeks of paid time to focus on preparing for and taking the CPA Exam, prior to beginning full-time employment. The Program is seeking participants1 who demonstrate a strong work ethic, commitment to taking all sections of the CPA Exam by October 6, 2025, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced learning environment, which may require rigorous study daily for a 13-week period, who demonstrate a strong work ethic, commitment to taking all sections of the CPA Exam by October 6, 2025, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced learning environment, which may require rigorous study daily for a 13-week period.

Selected program participants will be employed by Deloitte A&A as interns from July 8, 2024, through October 5, 2024. During this time, participants' professional responsibility will be to prepare for the exam through the use of Becker's CPA exam prep materials and participate in lectures, open office hours, dedicated group study sessions, and independent study.

During the Core Program Period, (weeks 1-13), participants will receive an hourly wage and access to additional Deloitte trainings while studying and taking the three Core parts of the CPA Exam. Additionally, travel2 and housing accommodations will be provided by Deloitte during weeks 1-9 (July 8, 2024, through September 5, 2024), and participants are expected to participate in person from the Denver office during this period. During weeks 10-13, participants are expected to study and attend lectures virtually from a Deloitte office3. Upon conclusion of the Core Program Period, participants will begin their full-time employment on or after October 7, 2024.

Participant Expectations

During the Program, participants are expected to:

* Attend virtual orientation for the Program on or around the week of June 24, 2024. During the virtual orientation, Program participants will be provided logistic details about the Program and how to prepare for arrival.

* Obtain a Notice to Schedule (NTS) for at least the FAR and AUD exams by a deadline of June 24, 2024 - Satisfying a conditional requirement for final eligibility to participate in the program.

* Hold a valid US work authorization throughout the entire duration of the Program (July 8, 2024, to October 5, 2024).

* Travel2 to Denver, CO on Monday, July 8, 2024

* During weeks 1-9 of the Core Program period (live, in-person learning):

o Participate full-time at the Denver Deloitte office (minimum 40 hours/week) in each daily CPA readiness lecture and individual and/or group study sessions held Monday through Friday between Monday, July 8, 2024, to Thursday, September 5, 2024 (excluding Labor Day).

o A typical day involves approximately 8 hours of study time in the Deloitte Denver office, including 4 hours of instruction, study halls focused on completing Becker practice assignments, and instructor-led review sessions. Evening and weekend self-directed study hours are also expected.

o Participants will be paid on an hourly basis for time spent receiving instruction, for attending office hours, and for a limited amount of self-study time.

o Participants will receive housing accommodations and any required travel provided by Deloitte2.

o Apply for and take the FAR and AUD portions of the CPA Exam by September 5, 2024.

* During weeks 10-13 of the Core Program period (in person attendance, virtual learning):

o Participate full-time from a Deloitte office (minimum 40 hours/week) in each virtual CPA readiness lecture and individual study sessions on a daily basis from Monday through Friday each week between September 9, 2024, to October 5, 2024 (excluding holidays).

o A typical day involves approximately 8 hours of study time in your Deloitte office, including 4 hours of virtual instruction, additional study halls focused on completing Becker practice assignments, and instructor-led review sessions. Evening self-directed study hours are also expected.

o Participants will be paid on an hourly basis for time spent receiving instruction, for attending office hours, and a limited amount of self-study time.

o Note that housing accommodations and travel will not be provided by Deloitte during this time.

o Apply for and take the REG portion of the CPA Exam by October 5, 2024.

The Program is open to all eligible1 incoming first year A&A professionals with a Fall 2024 or Winter 2025 start date.

Qualifications

Incoming A&A professionals who have accepted their offer to begin full-time employment in Fall 2024 or Winter 2025 are eligible for consideration if they meet all of the following requirements:

1) At least one of the following criteria is applicable1 to the applicant:

o Student from a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) or a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI); or

o First generation college graduate (a student whose parent(s) did not complete a four-year college or university program or who self-identifies as not having prior exposure to or knowledge of navigating US higher education institutions); or

o Has undergone financial hardship or received financial assistance (such as but not limited to the following examples: received need-based financial aid while pursuing a four-year degree, parent(s) received governmental rental assistance, parent(s) enrolled in some sort of nutrition assistance program (WIC, welfare, etc.), came from a low-income household, or other similar financial hardship);

2) The applicants must affirm all of the following:

o Applicant has not passed (and will not have passed) any Core sections of the CPA Exam prior to the Program start, to allow participants to prepare for the Core sections of the Exam as a cohort;

o Applicant will be eligible to take the CPA exam in their state prior to the Program start; and

o Applicant will have obtained a NTS for FAR and AUD prior to the deadline of June 24, 2024, before Program start.

3) The applicant must be willing and able to make housing arrangements for weeks 10-13 of the Core Program Period that will allow them to participate in the Program from a Deloitte office3;

4) The applicant affirms they will not have any courses, employment, or other outside commitments during the first 13 weeks of the Program, prior to commencing full-time employment with Deloitte, that would prevent them from participating fully in the Core Program and Discipline Program Periods; and

5) The applicant must hold valid US work authorization throughout the entire duration of the Program (July 8 - October 5, 2024).

6) Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.

The pay rate for this role is $23 per hour.

3 During weeks 10-13 of the Core Program Period, live instruction will be delivered virtually. To maintain a conducive, professional study environment, participants will be expected to participate in the live instruction and study from a Deloitte office from September 9, 2024, to October 4, 2024. For Sprint participants starting full time in October 2024, we strongly recommend reporting to the Deloitte office to which you were hired, per your full-time offer, to support your transition to full-time employment at the conclusion of the Core Program Period.
