Position: Operating Room Tech

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Operating Room Technicians to join our dynamic surgical team. The ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma operating rooms. As an Operating Room Technician, you will be responsible for assisting surgical teams before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Additional Info:

• Required Experience: 2 years of operating room experience in Level 1 or 2 trauma settings.
• Acceptance of First-Time Travelers: Yes. Travelers must reside more than 100 miles away from the facility.
• Patient Types: Surgical (Urology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Robotic Surgery, General Surgery, Podiatry, ENT).
• Patient Ratios: OR 1:1, Pre-Op 1:2, PACU Phase I 1:1 or 1:2 (based on acuity), PACU Phase II 1:2-3.
• Required Certifications: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist): BLS, graduation from accredited school (required), CST certification (preferred). SFA (Surgical First Assistant): BLS, CSFA (NBSTSA).
• Education Required: CST: Associate Degree in a Healthcare related field OR CST certification. SFA: Associate Degree in a Healthcare related field.
• Skills Required: CST: 2 years of experience with mentioned case types; Davinci XI and Craniotomy experience required for Trauma. SFA: 2 years of experience with mentioned case types.
• Support on the Unit: Surgery RN/First Assist/Surg Tech, Nurse Clinician, CRN, Service Line Lead (x2), HUC, Scheduler, Preference Card Analyst, OR Tech's (x1/case), Anesthesia.
• Charting System/Equipment: EPIC.
• Floating: CST/FA: Could float to Central Sterile Processing as needed.
• Orientation: 1 week.
• Scheduling: Weekend rotation, call requirements subject to change.
• Holiday Expectations: 2 out of 4 major holidays.
• Approval of Time Off: Reach out to Manager for approval. May volunteer low census without pay.
