Position : Laboratory Assistant
Location : New York, NY
Duration : 2 Months
Shift : 11 : 00 am - 7 : 00 pm (includes a 30 min break)
Assignment Duration : 8 weeks (Monday to Friday, no weekends or holidays, possible overtime)
Location : 520 East 70th Street Starr building Starr 10, rm 1021 JC : 1038
Job Summary : We are seeking a detail-oriented and computer-savvy Laboratory Assistant to join our Surgical Pathology team.
The successful candidate will assist in various tasks within the department, including filing, distribution of blocks, and transporting specimens.
This role requires physical ability to lift reasonably heavy boxes and may involve exposure to chemicals. Prior experience in a Histology setting is preferred, and knowledge of Co Path Laboratory Information System is a plus.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with filing and organization of documents, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Distribute blocks and specimens within the department according to established protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and specimens.
