Position : Certified Medical Assistant

Location : Hackensack, NJ

Job Summary :

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in providing clinical care and clerical office assistance under the supervision of a professional nurse or licensed medical practitioner.

They are responsible for preparing examination and treatment rooms, assisting with patient preparations, taking vital signs, performing various medical tests, maintaining records, and ensuring the smooth operation of office systems.

Essential Job Functions :

• Prepare examination and treatment rooms, including organizing supplies and instruments.
• Take and record patients' vital signs accurately in medical charts.
• Understand the proper function and care of special medical equipment.
• Perform medical tests such as EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing as indicated.
• Maintain patient records by completing documentation as directed and filing records and reports.
• Assist with collections and billing procedures as needed.
• Utilize computer software to maintain office systems and documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Identify and respond to the specific needs of the patient population served, including age, culture, language, and any impairments.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs., and stand a minimum of 6 hours a day.
