What You Will Do :
The Transplant Financial Coordinator is responsible for verifying all Transplant Insurances for Global or Non-Global patients (All Payors) and be familiar with all Global contracts.

• Work with all Organ Departments within UAB to include, but not limited to Kidney, Lung, Heart, Bone Marrow and Liver.
• Responsible for relaying information between Patient Financial Services and the Transplant offices in a timely manner.
• Will have extensive telephone usage on a daily basis to obtain approvals on transplants.
• Compile medical records to send to all payors for insurance approvals.
• Respond to all Impact requests in a timely manner (Impact is the only system that is used by the Transplant Coordinators)
• Will compile the Global Notices and forward to the appropriate areas.

What You Will Need :

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years of years of experience working with transplant coordination
• 1-3 years of Insurance experience

What Would Be Nice to Have :

• 2 years of insurance experience with all payors
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
• Great computer skills
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm.
• Phone Etiquette
• Ability to communicate any transplant issues or concerns in an effective manner with the Medicare Supervisor.
