Job Summary:

We are looking for an Environmental Technician to join our team in New Cumberland, PA! This important role supports the environmental team in compilation, review, and QA/QC of environmental reports; performing wetland identification and delineations; NEPA studies and documentation, performing and compiling Phase I, II, and III ESA reports; environmental permitting; Statement of Interest (SOI) write ups; environmental field operations and related tasks.

Schedule:

Full-time – 40 hours a week.

Salary Range:

Competitive compensation commensurate with experience. Range for the position is: $20.00 to $25.00 an hour.

Job Responsibilities:

· Perform wetland and watercourse identification and delineations, compile wetland and watercourse reports, and assist with Jurisdictional Determinations.

· Prepare and complete NEPA scoping and evaluation packages within the PennDOT CE Expert System. Prepare and complete supporting NEPA documentation.

· Compile waterway permit applications including JPAs and General Permits using the KEES system or via paper copies.

· Perform PNDI searches and conduct agency coordination.

· Perform and/or assist in T&E studies such as Phase I bog turtle surveys.

· Perform Environmental Assessments including macroinvertebrate surveys.

· Perform or assist with Phase I, II, and III ESAs, including DEP File Reviews, and compile reports.

· Assist with monitoring well installations and perform groundwater studies.

· Collect soil and water samples, as per PennDOT or current industry standards.

· Conduct lead based paint and asbestos containing material investigations after obtaining applicable certifications.

· Utilize ArcGIS, as necessary. Utilize CADD, whenever possible, for mapping assignments, figures, etc.

· Attend client and PennDOT/PTC meetings as well as agency coordination meetings.

· Assist with public involvement meetings.

· Conduct SOI research and documentation.

· Conduct field work. Travel to job sites is routinely required with overnight stays, as necessary.

· Willingness to obtain certifications and attend training classes as they relate to essential job duties.

Requirements:

· B.S. in the Environmental Sciences field required, with 0-5 years environmental work experience.

· Familiarity with NEPA and PennDOT/PTC environmental policies is strongly preferred.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation.

· Must demonstrate strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office Suite Programs.

· Must demonstrate exceptional oral/written communication skills, have a strong work ethic, and be able to work independently and in a team environment under the supervision of the Department leaders/senior environmental staff.

· Experience with technical writing preferred.

· Be willing to travel, including long field workdays and overnight stays, as necessary.
