Position Description

You will serve as a Mail Clerk / Mail Assistant in the Mail Facility of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Position Duties / Responsibilities

• At the GS-06 you will perform the following :
• You will receive, sort, collect, meter postage, process, deliver, and direct the distribution of incoming and outgoing Mail, Messenger Mail, DOD / DON Inter-Agency and Messenger Mail and premium services.
• You will determine the correct organizational segment to which mail is addressed and distributes into principal classifications by Identification Mail Code numbers, Zip Codes, locations or similar routing instructions.
• You will certify and operate electronic / automated high volume mail processing equipment, electronic postage metering systems, electronic decision making scales, and other postal and mail center equipment.
• You will ensure all incoming and outgoing mail is in adherence with all USPS, DOD / DON, regulations, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• At the GS-05 you will perform the following :
• You will perform various duties involving the control, processing, and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail.
• You will process and consolidate mail to ensure it is transported at the lowest cost possible.
