- You will serve as a Ship Superintendent in the Project Office, Mobile Detachment (Code 910) of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair (SUPSHIP), Gulf Coast.
- You will provide general oversight of craft construction to include new construction, modification, maintenance, and/or repair on the waterfront, from the start of fabrication through DD 250 delivery and sail-away.
- You will monitor all aspects of ship construction, trials, crew integration, and guarantee period.
- You will monitor construction progress, negotiate changes on the waterfront, and act as liaison with the contractor construction deck plate representatives.
- You will participate in preparations for compartment inspection and readiness validation for all milestones, including Launch, Builders Trials, Acceptance Trials, transits, dry dockings, and other special events.
- You will provide coordination/guidance/assistance for the Ship’s Force relative to crew move aboard, ship loadout, and other ship/crew integration activities.
- You will coordinate with Ship’s Force and the Contractor as necessary to de-conflict crew activities and any ongoing contractor work.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain warrant authority above the small purchase threshold.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
