Naval Air Systems Command is Hiring a SANDBLASTER Near Jacksonville, FL

This is a public notice flyer to notify applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base in the DoD. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. Qualifications:

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Knowledge of sandblasting procedures and dry and wet blasting compounds for aircraft components, engine components, landing gear, and other numerous components; 2) Operating air blast cabinets, booths, portable units and blast media recovery equipment to remove paint, tar, scale and other organic coatings from large, small and intricate or unusually shaped engine components, landing gear, ordnance, avionics, and other aircraft components; 3) Knowledge of cleaning characteristics of brass, corrosion resistant steel, aluminum, iron, steel, and other metals and nonmetals; and 4) Respond to and apply oral or written sandblasting instructions, technical orders, specifications, shop manuals, and safety rules.
