Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. As an ER Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing quality care to patients in emergency situations. This is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you will have the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients upon arrival to the emergency department, including gathering information on medical history, current symptoms, and vital signs.
  • Prioritize patient care based on acuity level, triaging patients to determine the urgency of treatment and the appropriate level of care.
  • Initiate and coordinate emergency interventions and treatments according to established protocols and standards of care.
  • Perform procedures such as starting intravenous (IV) lines, administering medications, and assisting with emergent airway management as needed.
  • Monitor patient responses to treatments and interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring that they receive timely and appropriate care and that their rights are respected.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing information about diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes in a clear and empathetic manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to address patient concerns and facilitate continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Communicate relevant information to healthcare providers, including physicians, specialists, and consulting services, to facilitate coordinated care and decision-making.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on patient status and care delivery during shift handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds.
  • Participate in disaster preparedness and response activities, including drills and training exercises, to ensure readiness to respond to mass casualty events and other emergencies.
  • Adhere to established protocols and procedures for infection control, hazardous materials handling, and patient safety to minimize risks to patients and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Experience in Critical care experience preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
