REQUIRED: 

Active and unrestricted AZBBHE licensure as a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), or Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC) is required- Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) is preferred. 

Job Description

The Project LAUNCH (Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children's Health) Social Worker provides services to families and youth ages 0-8. This position serves as a Maternal and Child Health team member and works closely with Home Visitors. This role provides Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) to Home Visitors and family counseling services. Additionally, this position assists Home Visitors in supporting parents by connecting and referring them to healthcare and community resources. Finally, this role provides general mental health counseling to parents and children.

The Project LAUNCH Social Worker collaborates with NATIVE HEALTH's Behavioral Health Department's (BHD) clinical team to serve children and families. This role recruits families to and from BHD and provides referrals for community resources. The Project LAUNCH Social Worker reports directly to the LAUNCH Program Manager.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS :

  1. A Master's degree in Clinical Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is required. 
  2. Active and unrestricted AZBBHE licensure as a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT), or Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC) is required- Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC) is preferred. 
  3. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training is preferred.
  4. Three years of specialized experience in mental health and/or substance abuse with diverse populations, particularly American Indian/Alaska Native, is strongly preferred.
  5. Possess current and unrestricted Arizona driver's license with no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions in the last five years. No more than two at-fault accidents in the previous three years. Must maintain a valid AZ driver's license during employment. Must be insurable by the NATIVE HEALTH liability auto policy. 
  6. Must present a Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card before employment. 
  7. Must pass alcohol/substance abuse testing upon employment and submit to random testing during employment.
  8. Must have an updated Immunization (IZ) Record.
  9. Must have a current (within 12 months) Tuberculosis (TB) skin report upon employment and provide an update annually, including COVID-19 vaccination.
  10. Must obtain a CPR and First Aid Card within ninety (90) calendar days of employment and maintain valid updated training during employment. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  1. Knowledge of child development, focused on ages 0-8, the effects of stress and trauma on families, and the impact of adult mental health on the developing child.
  2. Must possess excellent knowledge and application of counseling theories, modalities, techniques, and principles, including documentation for treatment services.
  3. An excellent understanding of child development, the effects of stress and trauma on families, and the impact of adult mental health on children are preferred.
  4. Must be comfortable working in various settings (clinics and schools) and going into homes.
  5. Must be able to establish rapport and gain the confidence of others (providers, case managers, primary care team, patients, and associates).
  6. Must be able to work with confidential material without betraying the trust of patients, families, or the agency- in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and agency policies.
  7. Knowledge of the cultural, social, historical trauma, and backgrounds of Native Americans/Alaskan Natives served and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  8. Knowledge of mental health issues of diverse populations served.
  9. Remains current and completes on time all assigned Relias training and other pieces of training related to the health promotion and disease prevention of the persons served in the program.
