Title: Vaccine Coordinator
Location: Indian Health Clinic - 703 NE Hancock Street, Portland, OR 97212
Schedule: This is an in person position, Monday through Friday 8:30am-5pm.
Wage Range: $25 - $28, non-exempt

Position Summary:

The Vaccine Coordinator is responsible for performing daily medical Assistant tasks, administrative tasks, assisting in minor clinical procedures, and ensuring compliance with the Oregon Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program requirements to keep the clinic running smoothly.


Essential Job Duties:

As a Medical Assistant:

  • Prepare clients for treatment procedures or examinations.
  • Obtain pertinent information regarding visits, take vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure), and record in medical charts, including urine samples when indicated.
  • Perform or prepare for procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and hearing or vision tests.
  • Perform CLIA-waived laboratory tests, maintain stock supplies for clinic exam rooms, and clean examination rooms after each use.

As a Vaccine Coordinator:

  • Communicate any changes to key staff of the Oregon Immunization Program within 30 days.
  • Screen patients at every immunization visit to determine VFC eligibility and document vaccine eligibility codes.
  • Administer VFC vaccines only to eligible children and adolescents up to the age of 18.
  • Maintain accurate records related to VFC for a minimum of three years.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from a nationally recognized institution.
  • Minimum two years recent paid experience performing medical assistant responsibilities.
  • CPR certification annually.
