• Develop and implement strategies, programs, and training materials to help employees prevent repetitive, cumulative, and overuse type musculoskeletal injuries and illnesses
• Conduct field observations and ergonomic analyses to provide recommendations on body mechanics, positioning, and postural habits
• Develop effective injury prevention strategies based on sound injury data
• Collect and maintain data to evaluate program performance and injury trends
• Provide recommendations on how to reduce the risk and severity of injuries
• Develop job-specific agility routines and programs to be implemented in a preventative method
• Provide on-the-job education and coaching to help workers achieve and maintain physical resilience
• Coordinate with onsite safety and medical team to provide interventions that fall within OSHA first aid guidelines
• Develop injury prevention training materials (handouts, presentations, visual aids, etc.)
• Support other shipyard safety initiatives and training programs as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field
• Three years of experience in Injury and illness prevention, including orthopedics, therapeutic interventions, industrial/occupational health, ergonomics, and wellness
• Experienced in biomechanical and ergonomic evaluations
• Certified Athletic Trainer, by either the Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent State Certification, in good standing
• Training in First Aid and CPR
• Good oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. Being bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to work independently to achieve objectives without prompting
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
