Overview

The Epic Database Administrator is responsible for managing, monitoring and supporting the Cache, Clarity, and Caboodle Databases. The Epic Database Administrator I has basic understanding of system availability, security and performance of the Cache, Clarity, and Caboodle Databases and Epic related client system’s software. 

This is a full time, benefits eligible position.

Responsibilities

• Plans, designs, builds, validates, tests, implements, and supports Epic systems software infrastructure to meet assigned customer needs.
• Provides customer service to define business needs and translate those needs into infrastructure and functionality requirements.
• Assures data integrity and system survivability by understanding and following all Disaster Recovery plans for assigned systems, understands and approves back up procedures, tests DR plans and system restores, and maintains current data in DR databases and tools.
• Provides troubleshooting, problem analysis, debugging, and resolution of assigned system issues.
• Performs system updates, patches, service releases, and upgrades as needed.
• Provides system coding and programming as required to support windows server infrastructure and Epic related client systems software.
• Designs, develops, tests, tunes, and maintains extract, transform, and load processes within Epic Clarity and Caboodle.
• Performs production support and maintenance operations, participates in on-call support rotation, and actively resolves incidents and restores services to maximize system availability.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent experience.

Certifications:

• Epic Cache Administrator experience or certification strongly desired. 
• Epic Clarity Administrator experience or certification strongly desired. 
• Epic Caboodle Administrator experience or certification strongly desired.

Skills:

• Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
• Strong skills in use of PC desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. 
• Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements; requires occasional after-hours support and overnight travel.

Experience:

• At least 4 years of experience providing server systems support required.
• Experience in health care environments preferred. 
• Experience interacting with clinical or business areas to gather and understand workflow and technical requirements. 

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Position requires ability to talk, listen and type.
• Ability to interact with customers and information systems personnel
