This position pays $27.00 per hour for 20 hours per week.

Job Summary:

The Crisis Counselor provides crisis intervention techniques via remote platforms and through on-the-ground community connections. The Crisis Counselor may conduct assessments and service referrals and conducts telephonic and other remote forms of outreach to community partners and potential clients.

Job Duties:

The following lists primary job requirements.

1. Answer telephone calls, emails, texts, or other forms of incoming communication from individuals seeking crisis intervention services.
2. Provide up to fifteen minutes of crisis intervention remotely—crisis intervention does not include mental health counseling or therapies.
3. Provide community referrals to individuals seeking services within the community. Services requested are generally related to natural disasters or other disaster declarations.
4. Provide community-based education to community partners.
5. Manage interactions with callers / incoming clients to ensure appropriate levels of support are offered in an efficient manner.
6. Schedule virtual appointments with clients and other community members to conduct community education, and/or crisis intervention group sessions.
7. Accurately and efficiently document caller demographics as required by the funder.
8. Attend virtual trainings, team meetings, and workshops as required.
9. Other remote duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Knowledge of, and experience with common remote platforms. These platforms include MS Teams, Zoom, or GoToMeeting.
2. Must have at least two (2) years experience using MS Office products i.e., SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other applications within MS Office365 suite.
3. Ability to efficiently navigate internet search platforms to find community providers.
4. Calm demeanor when under pressure.
5. Ability to respond to calls and emails within a specified time period, as directed by a supervisor.
6. Ability to enter data into an online database with efficiency.
7. Ability to navigate an online Learning Management System (LMS.)

Qualifications:

• AA/AS degree preferred, experience may be substituted for education. High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of higher education (college level) in a related field (social work, psychology, etc.) or at least one year of experience in a similar role.
• Veteran status desirable but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Individuals must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time and must have finger dexterity for constant typing and similar motions.

Offering:

• Part-time, M-F during PST business hours. (8:00 am – 5:00 pm) 
• $27.00
