The Medical Assistant at National VIP plays a pivotal role in supporting our Pain and Vein practice across our Long Island locations.

We are in search of an energetic individual who is enthusiastic about learning and making valuable contributions to our clinical team.

Location Note: The ideal candidate will initially be based between Jericho and West Islip for training and/or work purposes. This is a direct hire role.

What you'll do...

  • Greet registered patients upon their visit, triage patients through the patient flow process, and ensure a smooth experience.
  • Check schedules and accompany patients to the exam/procedure room. Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and exam preparation.
  • Maintain a sterile environment, ensuring adherence to standard infection control precautions.
  • Prepare exam rooms before patient visits, clean rooms and instruments, and restock supplies between patients.
  • Fulfill patient care responsibilities, including taking vital signs, updating patient history, and assisting providers in the exam room. Input patient data into the practice management system.
  • Fulfill clerical responsibilities, such as sending/receiving/scanning medical records, obtaining diagnostic reports and managing the charting process.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of clinical equipment, promptly escalating issues to the supervisor.
  • Regularly check dated materials and medications for expiration dates and discard expired items.
  • Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and triage calls to appropriate personnel.

You should have...

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • EMR systems (1 year preferred), vital signs (1 year preferred)
  • Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (not required)
  • Spanish proficiency preferred. (not required)
