Job Overview :

We are seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation management, preferably in the moving / relocation industry, with expertise in data analysis and process improvement.

The chosen candidate will effectively and efficiently assign shipments to drivers to ensure customer schedules are met. They will work closely with drivers and agents to build a positive rapport, ensure effective communication, and problem-solve concerns.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee a region-specific to the planning and assignment of shipments.
• Work closely with drivers on shipment details.
• Monitor changes and update computer systems as necessary.
• Adhere to the assigned schedule.
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise.

• 5 years of previous experience as a transportation specialist / planner preferably from the moving industry.
• Must have good MS Office skills.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail-orientated and extremely organized.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be flexible and a good problem solver.
• Must be able to work one Saturday per month (two Saturdays per month during peak season (5 / 15-8 / 31)) and occasional half days on holidays.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma or a GED required.
