The mission of the National Tropical Botanical Garden is to enrich life by perpetuating tropical plants,
ecosystems, and cultural heritage.

The Kampong of National Tropical Botanical Garden is recruiting for a part time, temporary Program
Manager for our education programs from May-December, 2024.

The Program Manager will be responsible for developing education and outreach programs, including
teacher training courses and summer internships. Oversight of the intern program will include recruiting,
interviewing and placing interns. Will also assist with planning high school events at the Kampong and
ICTB.

The ideal candidates can work effectively with minimal supervision and have the ability to work well in a
team. Must have experience working in education. Must be very enthusiastic and able to help deliver a
memorable, impactful learning experience for course participants in a Garden setting. Must be able to work
with curriculum and instruction. Requires some accounting and general office experience and strong skills
in writing and Google Suite.

A CPR/ first aid certification is beneficial; must pass a pre-employment background check before starting.
College degree in Botany, Environmental Studies, or Museum Studies required, master’s degree preferred.
Requires a minimum of five years of education experience in a museum of botanical garden setting;
Teaching experience in informal or formal settings desired. Knowledge of horticulture, conservation, and
Florida natural history preferred. Must be able to work effectively with a diverse group and with all ages of
students from Pre-K through college, especially high school.

Schedule: varies

Pay Range: $28-$31/ hr. DOE
