Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Grant Writer to join our team. As a Grant Writer, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our organization. This is a vital role that plays a key part in supporting our mission and ensuring the sustainability of our programs.

Duties:

- Conduct thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities

- Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather information for grant proposals

- Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate our organization's goals, objectives, and impact

- Develop budgets and financial reports to accompany grant proposals

- Proofread and edit grant proposals to ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines

- Maintain a comprehensive database of grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements

- Monitor progress of funded projects and provide regular updates to funders

- Assist in program development by identifying funding opportunities for new initiatives

- Collaborate with fundraising team to develop strategies for donor cultivation and stewardship

Experience:

- Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector

- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives

- Proficiency in financial report writing and budget development

- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail

- Knowledge of program development principles and strategies

- Familiarity with fundraising techniques and donor engagement

- Experience using Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising software is a plus

- Ability to conduct thorough research on funding prospects

- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
