Job Title: Billing Specialist
Location: Melbourne, FL (onsite, not remote)
Shift: Mon to Fri, 8:00a to 5:00p (No Weekends)
Pay: $20.00/hr
Required:- A minimum of 2 years previous billing, accounting, and/or bookkeeping experience
- Strong Excel skills (i.e. pivot table, x look-up, formulas, etc.)
Summary
Must maintain confidentiality; be moral and ethical in corporate and customer practice. Follow corporate mission and vision statements. Billing Specialist assists with the billing process for customers. Their duties may include processing payments, maintaining organized financial records to aide reporting and calculating bill totals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Searching each financial statement for any payment inconsistencies or errors
- Collaborating with customers to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors
- Creating invoices and billing materials to be sent directly to a customer
- Inputting payment history, upcoming payment information or other financial data
- Finding financial solutions for patients or customers who may need payment assistance
- Informing customers of any missed or upcoming payment deadlines
Skills and Attributes
- Strong communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
- Great customer service skills, including interpersonal conversation, patience and empathy
- Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Basic math, bookkeeping and accounting skills
- Organization, time management and prioritization abilities
- Ability to be discreet and maintain the security of customer information
- Effective computer skills to input to use bookkeeping and account management software in a timely and efficient manner
Qualification
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, multi-task, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision. Excellent customer service skills.
