National Security Agency is Hiring a Physician (Medical Director) Near Fort Meade, MD

NSA has an excellent opportunity available in the Occupational Health and Well Being (OHWB) organization for a Physician. OHWB supports NSA by promoting, assessing, and optimizing the health of the workforce and workplace and strives to be the Intelligence Community's premiere provider of occupational health services, employee assistance programs, environmental and safety solutions, psychological assessments, and emergency management.As a physician and manager at NSA, you will have leadership, clinical, and administrative responsibilities. The primary focus of the position consists of leading an occupational medical clinic that supports medical surveillance, travel medicine, workplace injury, and health education programs. This includes development and oversight of policies, programs, and services to advance the health and safety of the workforce. The clinical case mix includes work injury evaluation, fitness-for-duty and functional assessments, return-to-work evaluations, pre-placement physicals, foreign travel examinations, and medical surveillance. You will also provide consultative services regarding medical regulations and requirements, such as OPM, DoD, and OSHA standards. In this role, you will work directly with patients, other healthcare providers, clinical psychologists, human resource professionals, employee relations advisors, and safety and industrial hygiene professionals. As the Medical Director, you will be the subject matter expert to NSA senior leaders for medical issues including occupational exposures, fitness for duty, and health-related mission impacts.

Job Summary

NSA Medical Director and Chief of Occupational Medicine Services Division to promote, assess, and optimize the health and safety of the workforce and workplace.Physicians at NSA provide clinical services, including emergency response, physical exams, immunizations, vision and preventative health screenings. Physicians will also provide technical, managerial, and administrative services to the entire workforce.

Qualifications

The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position.Entry is with a current, permanent, full, and unrestricted medical license in any one of the 50 US States, Puerto Rico, or US territories, plus 5 years of relevant experience.Relevant experience must be clinical (e.g., private practice, occupational medicine, internal medicine, physical medicine, travel medicine, and rehabilitation).

Competencies

- Possess strong leadership skills for supervisory and manager role.- Possess strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.- Understand occupational medical aspects of intelligence operations, security matters, employment, and personnel issues, and interpretation of medically related regulations and legislation.- Conduct Occupational Health Program medical examinations for pre-employment, fitness for duty, medical surveillance, and special duty certifications.- Provide guidance regarding occupational exposures, fitness for travel, and travel-related medicine.- Act as a Medical Review Officer by evaluating and communicating results of non-negative drug tests.- Assist with teaching, education, and evaluation of rotating Occupational Medicine residents.- Evaluate and treat patients in an acute care setting and in emergency situations as needed.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position.Salary Range: $155,700 - $183,500On-the-job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee.Work Schedule: Full time. Monday - Friday with basic 8 hr/day requirements between 0600 and 1800 (flexible)
