POSITION SUMMARY

The Reporting Analyst is part of the Corporate Analytics team with responsibility for owning and developing reporting and analysis tools. The Analyst will have broad organizational access to support the analytic and reporting needs at all levels of Finance, Insurance Operations, Sales and Risk Management. The Analyst prepares and sends daily, monthly and quarterly reports with a focus on sales performance and analytics. In addition, the position will have guided responsibility of the maintenance and preparation of variable compensation plans on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support organizational-wide activities, both internally facing and in support of customer requests.
  • Measure and report on both production volume and productivity goals.
  • Support Accounting team's month-end close process through reporting and analysis of production volumes and activities, as well as understanding potential upstream and downstream impacts of results.
  • Lead development of presentations for varied audiences; could include internal executive management; state/federal regulatory agencies; investment community.
  • Lead development of New Insurance Written (new business) forecast model, understanding inputs and variables and impact on overall model results.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of large analytic datasets, both internal and externally sourced.
    Develop operational workflow reporting as well as risk-based analysis. Add insight to help drive decisions and process improvements.
  • Create new reports and metrics as needed under the guidance of manager.
  • Assist in implementation of new systems/software, as needed.
  • Provide analytics, insight, and opinion on trends and issues affecting National MI, its customers, and mortgage industry; may include customer benchmarking, competitor and industry analyses, and landscape changes impacting National MI relative to Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities, as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor's in Business, Accounting, Economics, Math, a related field, or equivalent work experience. Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Advanced Mathematics or similar discipline are a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum of three years in an analytic and reporting capacity, preferably in support of an Operational, Accounting, or Finance group in a financial services industry-related role (Credit, Risk, Insurance, Mortgage, Real Estate).
  • Proficiency in developing transact structured query language (T-SQL) scripting.
  • Understanding of stored procedures (MS SQL Server or comparable) is a plus.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office suite tools for productivity, analytics and presentation.
  • Advanced level in Excel pivot tables, charts, and graphs.
  • Executive-quality PowerPoint presentations and interactive slideshows.
  • Microsoft Access reporting capabilities and application development.
  • Experience utilizing online analytical processing (OLAP) business intelligence tools such as DOMO, Microsoft BI, IBM/Cognos Analysis Studio, or MicroStrategy is a plus. Ability to design and build interactive dashboards is also a plus.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, including the ability to capitalize on advanced features of cross-platform integration is a plus.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com or comparable customer relationship management (CRM) solution is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with support and guidance of manager.
  • Detail- and results-oriented.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication.
Base Salary Range: $57,000 - $73,00/year
