Facilities Seasonal Maintenance Worker – Fixed Term (3 months)

Summary

The National Life Group Facilities team provides a wide range of services to employees, tenants and guests to ensure a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing workspace. This position performs general seasonal maintenance work for the home office campus as part of a close knit and hardworking team. Good human relations and communication skills are essential. Work is performed with other team members under the supervision of a Team Lead and the Director of Operations & Maintenance, and under the general direction of the Head of Facilities.

Responsibilities

• Property Maintenance on 18 acres of landscaped lawns and 236 acres of forestry land.
• Perform maintenance of landscapes, including mowing fields and lawns, tree and shrub care, weeding gardens, raking, and brush and invasive plant removal.
• Sweep parking lot and sidewalks.
• Maintain and clean buildings, which may include basic carpentry and painting tasks.
• Clean and perform routine maintenance and repairs to equipment and tools.
• Remove trash and litter from grounds and parking areas.
• Help others complete office moves and conference room setups.
• Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment.
• Represent the Facilities team in providing the highest level of customer service.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record.
• Some prior maintenance experience preferred.

• A background free of criminal activities – must pass a background check.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Highly motivated, capable of working independently and cooperatively with other staff, and have a good eye for detail.
• Comfortable and competent using hand tools and operating landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, brush saws, and leaf blowers).
• Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds.
• Able to work in all weather conditions including heat and rain.
• Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate manager.
• Must wear a company provided uniform and personnel protective equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Action oriented, self-motivated and works well others.
• Willingness for continued improvement and enhanced skills.

The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.

Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
