National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) is Hiring a Jr. Accountant Near Bethlehem, PA

Works in both a standard office environment with some remote work opportunities. Employees are required to travel to the HQ as needed for all staff & department meetings, events, quarterly all staff events, etc. as needed.

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Reporting to the Controller, assists in ensuring the accurate and timely processing and reporting of all financial data. Supports the Controller in the day to day operations of the department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Post and process journal entries, maintain general ledger; records and document financial transactions. Identifies and in conjunction with Controller resolves financial data discrepancies.
  • Monitor trends and variances and recommend opportunities for improvement, analyze and monitor account postings and make adjustments.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts & deferred revenue tracking spreadsheets.
  • Update monthly depreciation of fixed assets, creating associated journal entries in Sage Accounting System.
  • Assist in publishing timely monthly financial statements
  • Assist with updating monthly budget forecasts, which includes providing feedback and gathering information from internal staff.
  • Assists in annual budget process, and recurring financial reporting for the management team, Senior Executive team, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors
  • Update weekly Business Drivers Financial Dashboard distributed to staff/leadership
  • Assists in preparation of Corporate Credit card Operational/Administration expense reports submitted through Concur Expense reporting system
  • Assists in annual audit, coordinating with outside auditor’s requests and preparation of year-end financial statements.
  • Assists in reviewing and validating monthly sales team commission calculations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Education & Skills:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related discipline, Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ related experience (required).
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Accounting Systems (Required); Sage (Preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, develop solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in macOS, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, accounting software, data reports and statistical analysis.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and make recommendations in support of goals in a professional and timely manner.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter able to handle multiple projects, working independently and as part of a team to meet Association goals.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and work collaboratively with other team members to meet deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Creative strategic thinker, who can apply out of the box thinking to problem-solving and big picture concepts.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly Organized with attention to detail.
  • Risk management experience a plus.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
