National Inventors Hall of Fame is Hiring a Grant and Development Specialist Near North Canton, OH

The Grant and Development Specialist is a key member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF) Development team, responsible for implementing a comprehensive plan for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors to support NIHF’s PreK-12 programs. Future growth opportunities may include fundraising for the Collegiate Inventors Competition, NIHF Induction Events, and the NIHF Museum.
Position Responsibilities
  • Increase the fundraising ability and public visibility of NIHF, its programs and mission
  • Collaborate with the team to implement strategies for cultivating foundation and corporate partners
  • to support NIHF’s PreK-12 education programs
  • Work in collaboration with the Sales team to increase PreK-12 scholarship support in strategic areas of the country
  • Conduct prospect research and submit letters of intent, proposals, and final reports for assigned regions
  • Cultivate relationships with donors and ensure regular communication through phone, email, in-person meetings, and/or site visits
  • Maintain comprehensive, accurate grant and donor files through Salesforce
  • Travel, as required, to develop relationships
  • Effectively communicate NIHF’s mission and programs to broad audiences
  • Other duties, as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong writing, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Self-directed, performance-oriented individual who has demonstrated initiative and achievement of goals
  • Proven proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Proven proficiency with Salesforce or other donor-related databases
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond to changing priorities while adhering to deadlines
  • Adept communicator who can effectively represent NIHF
  • Proven research and analytical capabilities
  • Detail-oriented; strong organizational skills
Credentials and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years’ successful track record in nonprofit development
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and meeting fundraising revenue goals
Special Requirements
  • Writing samples will be requested
